November 27, 2004... November 27, 2004 -- I've made it to Metropolis, Illinois where I've stopped to spend the night. I've still got about 344 more miles to go to make it to Peru, Illinois where I'll drop this trailer at a drop yard there.

I came through a lot of rain and drizzle today. The temperatures seem to be hovering around 45 to 50 degrees.

I got a replacement battery for my laptop. I tested it a bit last night and it seems to have solved the short battery life problem I was experiencing with the original battery that came with the machine. I don't run it on the battery very often, but when I need to, I need to. The laptop is about three years old. Batteries wear out over time even if they aren't relied on much.
